The Portuguese Federation of Underwater Activities (FPAS) confirm its position to support and organize the 17th Elite World Championship of Underwater Hockey 2011, in Portugal. The competition is to be held in Coimbra – Portugal, in the dates of 16th to 27th of August 2011.
Coimbra is one of the most important urban centers in Portugal and has a wealth of cultural heritage. Coimbra was the capital of Portugal during the Middle-Ages, boasts many archaeological structures dating from the Roman era and is home to one of the oldes Universities in Europe.
The Olympic Pool complex in Coimbra was opend in 2005 and has a 50m x 25m tiled pool with a depth of 2 – 2.25m.
