Underwater Hockey Equipment

Buying equipment for underwater hockey can be a little daunting, especially for new players. A trip to your local dive shop offers up so many different types and styles of masks fins and other gear that picking the right one for you seems impossible. Here are a few articles on what to look for when choosing what equipment to buy.

Sticks

Your sticks should have comfortable handles, have good front and back edges for flicking and tackling, and be appropriate to your size, position and skill level.

Mask

A mask should have a good seal, be comfortable,
have a wide field of vision, be low volume, non-bulky and have separate lenses

Fins

Comfortable foot pockets, rubber or soft plastic blades that are wide and powerful for speed and acceleration. They should not have any buckles or hard clips.

Snorkel

Look for a wide bore, soft, flexible snorkel with no fancy bits but that curves to fit your head and has a comfortable mouth piece

Glove

Make sure it allows you to grip a stick well, is comfortable and will protect your fingers from the puck, other players sticks and the bottom of the pool
